Where we ate our first night in Paris

tel 01 45 51 93 08

We had dinner at Le Bistrot du 7 ème. I am not a restaurant critic and it being our first night "in town," I was just happy to have taken a good hot shower and be in clothes other than what I wore to travel in, and was so enamored by the group I was with, that I could not be picky about the meal. Suffice to say, everything I had was delicious - from the herring entree (appetizer) to my duck main course. Our tour guide arranged for us to eat here. I enjoyed the small yet intimate room and soft lighting. The staff was very pleasant. If you want more details, check out the online reviews for this establishment ... you'll find plenty on the web.

Le Bistrot du 7 éme is one of my local favorites when I'm in Paris. I usually go a couple of times a week. The waiters have not changed in over 10 years. And I always have the herring entree to start my meals. What a fun post to read and I'll be back there in December.

Cool, Meg! I'm glad this restaurant gets a thumbs-up from a fellow Paris blogger, and an especially rave review from you is even better! I like to know I wasn't "missing out" on fabulous places to eat since our tour guide arranged for nearly all of our meals. My tour guide knows what she is doing, and your comment only confirms it.

Glad you like the herring too! : )

From the BBC series on Paris, Blood and Chocolate (Part 2 of 3). Enjoy!
